A501 wm6 Rom update (Windows Mobile 6.0)
My brother has updated his mobile phone from 5.0 to 6.0, i had a look at his, the software is very pertty.
i was annoyed by the Microsoft Input that built in in 5.0. it takes 20 second to switch from one input methoud to another. the key will not response after 20 second. i had asked on a forum about this issue. an expert answerd: please learn to live with it because it happed on every windows mobile 5.0 device.
Searched in baidu.com and google.com. i was luky, found several forum has Windows mobile 6.0 for Mio A501 avaliable to download. i downloaded one from here:

the update tool called chiffchaff updater Ver 3.3 does not work in Vista. after several failed attempts on my vista computer i copied the rom and the update tool to a XP computer, after 15 minutes. update went succesfully.
It's english or chinese rom? Everything what I found about flashing/dumping rom about new rom or WM6 is only in chinese and I cant chinese. Does anybody know how to dump rom from device (please in english)? I would wanted to try it but i dont want to risk... Thanks
its Chinsese rom only,i didn't find the English rom, here is a screen capture of my phone.
a tool that dump rom from MiTAC Mio device is called ScoterBackup, its in English.
I found one download at http://www.592mio.com/viewthread.php?tid=18935, but the website is Chinese too.
there is some problem to dumb rom with scoterBackup (or i cant do that everytime I did it files have 0 bytes) and then I dont know how to flash back my dumped rom to mio (maybe with the same tool for flash chinese rom but i'm not sure). I want to try WM6 in my MiO but it's big risk to destroy device (service center is terible here in slovakia and I dont want to pay for repair). I'll be waiting to rom in english and then I maybe will try it.
there has to be somewhere out there a ROM in English for our Mio A501
