How to use and install Drivers and Utilities disk for Dell computer in Windows XP/Vista

many people were looking for the driver directory or the package in the driver disk that provided by Dell, some people told me that they were unable to find it, this is totally wrong for Dell computer. all Dell driver files are packaged into .exe and placed into a folder "ZIPFILES".

Different from many other manufacturer. Dell using Xceed Self-Extractor
creator software package each their driver into a self extract .exe
file, and the name will be like RXXXXX.exe. for example, R86382.exe,
this file is the driver for Intel Wireless 2100 3A adapter, nobody can
guess from the file name what it is unless you extract it.

the correct way to install the driver is.
1. Insert the Dell driver disk into the CD-ROM driver, most Dell driver disks are named with "Drivers and Utilities
”.

If its the first time or the OS has reinstalled, this Dell Resouce CD will start a instalation wizard. please follow the instruction.

2. After install the wizard, there will pop up a windows, you can chose your computer module, OS type, and what software from the left panel, the correct driver for your computer will be detected by it and and labled with a correct mark.

3. click the correct driver, extract it and install. you may need reboot the computer during the driver install.

4. confirm if all driver installed successfully.
right click "my computer", selec "manage", click "Device Manager",if there is no device marked as question mark or exclamtor, it means all driver has installed successfully.
